This Sassafras Timber Folding Candle Holder is crafted from one of Tasmania’s most striking and beautiful timbers - Blackheart Sassafras.  

The sassafras tree is native to Tasmania with the “blackheart” referring to the dark stripes that form in the timber – caused by a staining fungus that enters the tree at some stage. Blackheart sassafras is becoming much more expensive and harder to source as forests are locked up. It is one of the most highly prized and sourced timbers by woodturners and furniture makers due to not only its ease of working with but the end results are so attractive with the striking dark brown & black characteristics on a creamy background.

Metal components have been used for the placement of candles – this one comes complete with six white church candles.

Please note no two candle holders will be exactly the same due to the unique grains of the timber & may differ to the photo displayed.
